Chrome Web Store Specific Disclosures
Host Permissions Justification
The Extension requests broad host permissions (http://*/* and https://*/*) to detect ads on publisher websites beyond major social platforms. Here's how we use these permissions:
What We Access:
- Only ad content on pages where ads are detected
- Only when you click "Save to En Garde"
- No access to personal messages, passwords, or sensitive data
Why We Need Broad Permissions:
- Ads appear on thousands of publisher sites
- Cannot predict every URL where ads may appear
- Content scripts only activate when ad patterns detected
Your Privacy:
- We only analyze content you explicitly save
- No background tracking of browsing activity
- You can revoke permissions at any time in chrome://extensions/
Data Usage by Permission
storage:
- Saves your ad library locally
- Syncs across devices via Chrome Sync (optional)
- Stores user preferences
activeTab:
- Injects "Save to En Garde" button on current tab
- Only activates when you interact with Extension
- No background monitoring
identity:
- Handles Google Sign-In authentication
- Never stores passwords
- Uses OAuth 2.0 secure tokens
notifications:
- Alerts you when cultural scoring completes
- Can be disabled in browser settings
- No personal information in notifications
host_permissions:
- Detects ads on social platforms and publisher sites
- Only analyzes content you save
- No access to personal accounts or messages
Third-Party Links
The Extension may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., when you click to view an ad's original post). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
