Google Analytics
AvailableOAuth
Google Analytics describes what people did on your site. En Garde uses that behavior as segmentation input, so a segment can be built on real on-site activity rather than on channel labels alone.
What moves, and which way
Integrations run in both directions. What follows is what this connection is for.
En Garde to Google Analytics
- Nothing is written to your property. The connection reads.
Google Analytics to En Garde
- Sessions, users, and traffic sources.
- Events and conversions as configured in your property.
- Landing page and channel breakdowns, reported next to campaign performance.
Connecting it
You approve the connection on the platform itself. En Garde never sees your password — the platform hands back a token scoped to the permissions shown before you approve.
- Open Integrations in your Brand Space. The page is titled Connected Apps.
- Find the platform on the Integrations tab, using the search box or the category filter.
- Click Connect. A dialog lists the permissions En Garde will request.
- Continue to the platform. A popup opens on their site where you sign in and approve. If nothing appears, your browser blocked the popup — allow popups for En Garde and try again.
- Leave the popup open until it closes on its own. En Garde then checks the connection status and the card moves to Connected.
Worth knowing
- Authorize with a Google account that has at least read access to the property, then choose the specific property — a Google account with access to many properties will offer all of them.
- What En Garde can report is limited to the events your property already collects. If a conversion is not configured in Analytics, it will not appear here.
